Kehlani’s “Folded” already carries so much emotion through its vocal performance that I wanted this remix to feel less like a flip and more like a new perspective. Instead of pulling the track apart, I built a liquid drum & bass foundation underneath it while keeping the soul of the original front and center.
The goal was simple: rolling breakbeats, a deep sub bass that you can feel as much as hear, crispy textures, and enough space for Kehlani’s vocal to remain the emotional centerpiece.
I’ve always loved the melodic and soulful side of drum & bass, and this remix leans heavily into that influence. Definitely nostalgia-maxxing with this one.
